How do I buy a share?
Step 1 - Go to Events page and select an event
On the front page is a list of a selection of upcoming events sellers are playing in. To see the full list of events which you can buy a share in, click on the events menu up the top. This will take you to the events page, see below.

Listed on this page are all upcoming and running events. This is indicated by the search filter at the top of the page. Adjusting your search preferences is easy to use with the drop down menu and you can search on a combination of upcoming or old events by player or by site.
Each row represents an event, with the player selling the event listed first, followed by poker site and the tournament name. Under the column stakes available, if there is a green square with eg a 3/4 in it, this means there are 3 shares available to buy from a previous maximum of 4. The price per share is listed in the next column with information on when the event is going to take place listed next to it.
For further information about the event, click on the Tournament in blue writing.
Those shares listed in red squares with âsoldâ
us column.
When you click on the Tournament, you will be taken to the page below.
Step 2 – To buy a share click on an 'open' share on the pie
By clicking on a piece of the pie that is open (green), the share will be reserved temporarily for you. You can select multiple shares for any event. Once you have selected the shares you want to buy, click the 'Buy Pending Shares' button and you will be taken to the payment page (see below). There you will be given details on how to transfer money to the seller of the share.
The event details page also provides the time the tournament will take place, the prices of the share and the buy-in for the tournament. Up the top the page the player rating and transaction rating are given. Also an estimated max winnings per share is provided. In this case, a $4 share could win you $150!
After clicking on an open share you will be taken to the below page.
Step 3 - Sending the money
You will have 15 minutes to complete the transaction. In the drop down menu you will be able to select which available method you will use. For example if you wish to transfer to the sellers' pokerstars account you too will need to register a pokerstars account in your player details (see updating player details). Upon transferring the payment, click on the payment sent to player button. The seller will acknowledge the payment being received, and change the status to sold on the pie.
How soon before the tournament starts can I buy a share of a player?
The player or administrators can lock the tournament at any point - usually however shares will be available for purchase right until the tournament starts. Can I purchase multiple share blocks for the one event?
Yes, you can buy as many shares as you like - there are no restrictions. You can purchase multiple blocks in a single playerâs event, or blocks in different players in the same tournament. When creating an event, sellers have the option to retrict buyers to buying a maximum number of shares.
What if a tournament is cancelled by the poker site?
All money should be returned to the investor - this process is assisted by ChipMeUp providing notification to parties of the cancellations but all monetary transactions are organised by the players themselves. (see above)
How do I become a seller of poker shares?
Everyone can become a seller of shares - you will need to add money into your My Balance section before you can create an event.
Can a player reserve shares for certain investors?
Yes. When a seller is logged in and they click on a share they are able to 'Reserve' a share for themselves or any non-ChipMeUp member. When reserving a share, a descriptive note can be attached to the share so that the seller knows who it's for.
